Smoky, fiery, and undeniably Texan — these sizzling fajitas showcase the bold flavor of Texan Heartland’s Lone Star Reserve. Marinated to tender perfection, seared hot for that irresistible char, and served with peppers and onions in warm tortillas, this dish is pure Lone Star flavor on a plate.
Ingredients
-
1 ½ pounds flank steak (or skirt steak)
-
½ cup Texan Heartland Lone Star Reserve Hot Sauce
-
2 tablespoons olive oil
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
Juice of 1 lime
-
1 teaspoon cumin
-
1 teaspoon salt
-
1 large red bell pepper, sliced into strips
-
1 large green bell pepper, sliced into strips
-
1 medium red onion, sliced into strips
-
8 flour tortillas (warmed)
-
Toppings: sour cream, guacamole, shredded cheese, or salsa
Directions
Marinate the beef: In a bowl or zip-top bag, combine Texan Heartland Lone Star Reserve Hot Sauce, olive oil, garlic, lime juice, cumin, and salt. Add flank steak, coat well, and refrigerate for 1–2 hours.
Cook the steak: Heat a cast-iron skillet or grill over high heat. Remove steak from marinade, pat lightly dry, and cook 4–5 minutes per side (medium-rare), or until desired doneness. Transfer to a cutting board and let rest 5 minutes.
Sauté the veggies: In the same skillet, add bell peppers and onion. Sauté over medium-high heat until softened and slightly charred, about 5–6 minutes.
Slice and serve: Thinly slice steak against the grain. Serve with peppers and onions in warm tortillas, adding toppings if desired.
Recipe Note
For an extra punch, drizzle more Texan Heartland Lone Star Reserve Hot Sauce over the fajitas right before serving.
